Skincare can feel like a mystery. So many different products and ingredients with names I can't pronounce. One tightens pores, the other cleanses, the next rejuvenates, this repairs, this one has antioxidants and that one has peptides. I can't keep up with it all.
As I turned 30 I realized it was time for me to kick it into gear. I have always been lucky to have pretty good skin, it can get really dry in the winter and it breaks out occassionally but overall, I love the skin I'm in and I want to do as much as possible to continue taking care of it. I try to stick to the basics, using simple products consistently to see results.
I try to stick to the basics to keep my skin fresh, bright, and hydrated. As you see the products I have here you'll see the theme: hydration and anti-aging and hydrating and anti-aging. So.. Without further ado, here are my all-time favorite skincare products.
If you only purchase one skin care product ever-- make it this one!!! It does it all. It hydrates your skin, it has antibacterial properties, it acts as a primer and keeps all of your products in over night. (*pro tip you can also use it to get rid of fly aways and create the perfect slicked back bun.) I usually use this product either right after I shower in the morning - giving it 30 minutes to soak in before I put on my make up. Or I use it before bed as a sleeping mask.
I can't speak this products praises enough. If you try it-- let me know what you think!!
This is one of those products that you can feel working. The texture of this scrub is perfect and a little goes a long way. I use this 1-2x a week and it leaves my skin so so fresh so so smooth.
This product hydrates and heals with its anti-inflammatory qualities. It also helps with all my little fine lines and wrinkles that have been making an appearance recently. I have pretty bad eczema and this product helps sooth and hydrate when it flares up. This oil feels like silk on my skin and pairs nicely with the other products I use.
I can't remember how I found out about this product but vitamin E is great for healing, moisturizing, and anti aging for all my millenial girlies out there. I use this all over my body- not just my face. It locks in moisture and keeps my skin so so smooth. Also- that price?! I mean come on. How can you pass it up!?
I. Love. This. Make Up. It doubles as coverage and skincare with the niacinimide and hyraulonic acid. It gives such a nice glow and is never cakey or drying. It also has SPF 50 which I love. Most days- this is all I will wear as makeup. Warning- it can be a little dewy/wet looking so I also put a translucent powder on top to help it set a little bit.
This is another one of those words I will never be able to pronounce. But another holy grail. This sunscreen goes on so smoothly, has a great tint so you don't have that sunscreened looked (you know the one, kind of ghostly and streaky). It also has peptides that are proven to reverse aging. I just recently started prioritizing sunscreen after reading how terrible the sun is for your skin- so I can really use all the help I can get in reversing the damage I have already done. All while protecting my face from new damage.
Old faithful. Been using it since I was 15 and it's never let me down. I'll leave it at that.
Another one that I have no clue how it works or how to pronounce the ingredients but I love it. It is so easy to apply and it targets fine lines, cell renewal, and gives you a fresh glow. I don't use this every night- 1-3x a week depending on the sensitivity of my skin and what other products I'm using.
This works magic on blackheads and is a miracle when it comes to clearing out your pores. I throw it on a cotton ball and use it after I cleanse and before I moisturize and put on other serums.
